Book: No God but God
April 26th, 2007 by ahmed
This is a beautiful book about the Islamic Movement in Egypt. It draws on so many interviews with individuals at so many levels; from the poorest doorman, to the often imprisoned lawyer. The book talks about the influence of Islam and the Islamic movement on society at a grassroots level. The book is titled:
No God but God: Egypt and the Triumph of Islam
Its the first book for Geneive Abdo, a journalist with 20 years of experience on her. I haven’t read her other books yet, but I heard that they are very elaborate and informative. Yes, they are on my wishlist.
This book, however, is a must read for all those interested in Islamic revival.
