The Shootings
This is a first hand account given by a sister from Virginia Tech… In it, she mentions brother Waleed, and her injured friend, Elilta. She talks about the shock of finding out about the incident, and the turmoil that succeeded the shooting.

I find myself thinking that such death and destruction of innocent lives is common in war torn countries; why are we making a big fuss out of this? The only answer that comes to mind is that we become numbed from hearing about 50 dead here, and 100 dead there. No names or faces are given to the dead and after all, who can keep count? We no longer even blink to the news, “Its a war zone, after all,” we probably tell ourselves. But when we think of such violence happening in a place that is not war torn, we wake up and cry.
